Driving from my house to my sister's who lives next door, and with her permission, I'm taking some trash to her large dumpster. Of course, the grandkids want to ride along, and I figure sis will enjoy the exuberant "Hi"s and the excited clustering and the reacquainting with her Augie Doggie. So, why not?
Sure enough, it happened just that way. Augie Doggie was standing at the end of the sidewalk barking "Who are you? Stranger alert!" then took off happy with tail wagging and feet leaping cause they had exited the backseat of the truck and were squealing and running after him. Chase me time, "Augie, come back here!"
"Let's go! Get back in your seats and buckle up!" Remember that old commercial jingle, it comes to mind every time. "Buckle up, for safety, buckle up. Buckle up, for safety, buckle up, everybody buckle up. Put your mind at ease, tell your driver please, buckle up for safety, everybody buckle up."
Anyway, I digress. From left to right, it's Alayna, Jayden, and Miss Lilly. She has her fingers pinched together and acts like a biter; she pokes towards Alayna's cheeks. Of course, they're having fun because Alayna is laughing and knows what Lilly is doing. I don't. I'm watching from the rearview mirror and have to check it out.
"Marp", says Lilly as she quickly pecks towards Alayna.
Alayna giggles.
"Shaun!" Lilly reprimands. "Marp." and her pinched fingers turn towards herself.
Alayna's giggling more.
"That is NOT acceptable behavior", Lilly apes.
Alayna is giggling and giggling.
"Calm and controlled. Calm and controlled," Lilly's definitely quoting somebody! "Shaun!" and he pecks again.
"Where'd you hear that?" I ask Miss Lilly.
"Bluey. Shaun's their pet."
Shew. That's a whole lot better than what I was thinking. What was I thinking?
"Marp! Stay calm and controlled, GrammyPam..... Marp!"
