"Where Have All The Flowers Gone?"
It was the 4th of July, the whole family was here for a cook-out, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, fruit, and ice cream, the American Dream, right? During the course of the afternoon, I noticed my flower pots along the top of the fence were empty!
"And you didn't say anything?"
"I didn't think you'd care. You didn't, did you?"
"No. I don't care. Actually, I think it's funny."
So, here's a pic of empty pots along the top of the fence.
Then at days' end after eating melon and chewing Doritoes,
the children were asked to gather all the flowers into one pile, and they did.
Purple with yellow,
white with blue,
mix and compliment,
leafy stems, not a few!
But! Where had they been? "Where had all the flowers gone?"
As the song says, "Young kids picked them everyone!"
The darlings had planted flowers in their own little garden.
My Garden of Flowers
Ah, the colors, the textures, the various heights, the bouquets, the myriad maturities,
the laughs and the giggles - beautiful!
