Laughing out loud, they were! Firstborn son was reared back in his seat with his head to the sky laughing. The shoulders of those with their backs to us were shaking.
Here we all were in the church's annexed kitchen with the remnants of a delicious and tasty pitch-in dinner behind us relaxing with good food in us.
Members of their table were laughing.
Members of our table were laughing.
We all wanted to know what the others were laughing at.
One of ours asked, "What's so funny?"
And one of theirs switched tables to get in on the joke.
Turns out there's a wealth of comedic anecdotes that I haven't tapped into yet which belong to a couple of sisters. Who would've guessed!
Both had worked at Chic Cusine as young adult waitresses while attending State University. After years of working under Dan The Man store manager, older sis didn't want to have to tell him she was quitting. So she bribed younger sis to make a phone call pretending she was her!
What bribe would it take? I don't know which is funnier, what older sis offered up? that older sis didn't have nerve? or that younger sis was willing to do it? Any choice is a chuckle!
Keep in mind they were struggling college students and every penny counted ... younger sis took older sis's $30 bribe!
